The Yorkshire Terrier started in Yorkshire, a region in northern England (and the abutting Lancashire). In the mid-nineteenth century, specialists from Scotland came to Yorkshire looking for work and carried with them a few unique assortments of little terriers. Reproducing of the Yorkshire Terrier was "mainly cultivated by the general population—for the most part agents in cotton and woolen factories—in the districts of Yorkshire and Lancashire." Details are rare. Mrs A.
